Comfort for the givers of comfort

“Mom, my baby’s dead.”  My daughter’s hysterical voice was heard on the other end of the line.  “I just came from my regular checkup and the doctor couldn’t find a heartbeat.”

I felt weak.  How could this be happening, AGAIN?  Our children had previously experienced the loss of their first baby.  Things were to be different this time…we even possessed our first baby picture; an ultrasound of the next generation.  After several bereavement days and time with our children it was time to go back to work. How could I face my pain, support our children and provide support for families under my care?  My Heavenly Father promises comfort for His children:

“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah!  Father of all Mercy! God of all healing counsel. He comes alongside us when we go through hard times and before you know, He brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.  We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of His healing comfort, we get a full measure of that too.”
