is a journey we all experience when we lose someone we love. Children
especially need help identifying tools to help manage their emotions. If your
child has lost a loved one in the past few years this is a camp you want them
to attend. This year’s one day camp will be held Saturday, October 10th
at Portofino in Clayton NC.  The camp is
open to any child (ages 7-17) who has lost a loved one in the past several
years. If you have questions or need additional information please contact
PruittHealth Hospice of Smithfield NC at 800-392-9295. You may download a
registration form for campers or a volunteer sign up form by using the menu
beside this message.

On a clear, crisp fall day, October 11, 2014 the second Camp
Cocoon Carolina was held at Portofino Equestrian Center in Clayton.  Again, campers were involved with bereavement
activities such as memory boxes and stepping stones designed to help process
the grief resulting from losing someone special.  Just like year one, the horses were the hit of the day.  Many parents attended a
session just for them designed to help them help their children.  At the end of the day, families watched as
participants released live butterflies beside the pond at Portofino.
