As a Christian organization, our Foundation lives up to its founding principles by caring for bereaved children, assisting caregivers in times of crisis, and supporting ongoing education in medical fields to continually enrich the lives of our employee partners and those in communities served by PruittHealth.

Camp for Grieving Children

Loss of a close family member is devastating to a child without the maturity or professional guidance to process their grief. Camp Cocoon is a special camp exclusively for kids who are struggling with grief. Camp Cocoon provides an understanding community and practical tools to help children process their grief and find hope for the future.

Family Crisis Grants

Many families experience financial crisis due to long term illness or death in the family. From medical bills to house payments to funeral expenses, the PruittCares Foundation ensures that those who ask and qualify for financial assistance receive the funds they need.

Healthcare Education Scholarships

A career in healthcare is an exciting goal, but the cost of the required education is a frustrating barrier to many students. The PruittCares Foundation provides scholarships to qualified students in the fields of nursing, all forms of therapy, and pharmacy.

Camp Cocoon

“Camp Cocoon was a life-changing experience for my 2 boys who were 11 and 5 when their baby sister passed away shortly after her birth. The first year at camp they were really able to connect with other kids who were grieving and developed trusting relationships with their bereavement counselors. When they found out many of the friends they met would be returning the next year, they couldn’t wait to go back…”

Family Outreach Crisis Grants

“Recently, I had a [friend] miss numerous days from work due to her husband being sick and in and out of the hospital. She exhausted her PTO and when the utility bills became delinquent I suggested we contact the PruittCares Foundation to see if they could aid her in any way. Success!!!! PruittCares helped [my friend] get her utilities caught up. She is very thankful for PruittCares and the assistance given when needed.”

Healthcare Education Scholarships

“I would have to say that furthering my education has been the best thing that could have happened to me. I started out as an LPN in 2006. After working in a hospital for 3 years, I came to hospice. It was not until I had my eyes set upon the DHS job that I decided to try to get my RN. However, I had a lot of obstacles in my way. It took me awhile to get things lined up, but finally with the help of the PruittCares scholarship, I was able to go back to school and obtain my RN.”
